The 10th Annual CTC&G IDA Awards

On Tuesday evening, Connecticut’s top architecture and design professionals gathered at the Greenwich Country Club for the 2016 Connecticut Cottages and Gardens Innovation in Design Awards. Now in their tenth year, the awards were a celebration of the architecture and design industries’ finest work. Excitement was in the air as hundreds of attendees eagerly awaited results in categories ranging from Architecture to Interior Design, Landscape Design, and Product Design. Innovator of the Year

Singled out for the nights highest honor, the 2016 Innovator of the Year, was Robert A.M. Stern. Stern is a practicing architect, teacher, and writer. Dean of the Yale School of Architecture since 1998, he is renowned for his iconic work. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, and received the AIA New York Chapter’s Medal of Honor in 1984 as well as the Chapter’s President’s Award in 2001. In 2007, he received both the Athena Award from the Congress for the New Urbanism and the Board of Directors’ Honor from the Institute of Classical Architecture and Classical America. In 2008, he received the tenth Vincent Scully Prize from the National Building Museum. Mr. Stern was the 2011 Driehaus Prize laureate. He is the founder and Senior Partner of Robert A. M. Stern Architects (RAMSA), where he personally directs the design of each of the firms projects.
